Course Details

The Road course is a 25km circuit that you complete either 1,2,3 or 4 times.

Full details of the route are described below the map...

 

 


All riders start on Park Ave, turn left into Ngarara Rd and then right into Belvedere Ave - continue along Belvedere Ave turning left into Sylvan Ave before turning right into Parata St.  Take the next right into Kapanui Rd, left at Belvedere and continue on to the Ngarara Rd junction.  Turn left onto Ngarara Rd then second left onto Kohekohe Rd and follow it  onto Koromiko Rd.  Koromiko Rd takes you onto Te Moana Rd.  Take a right onto Te Moana Rd (with care).  Follow Te Moana Rd past the Golf Club and turn left onto Waimea Rd.  Take the next left onto Weggery Drive.  At the end of Weggery Drive turn right onto Queens Rd and then second left into Eruini St.  At the end of Eurini St turn right onto Tutere St.  Follow Tutere St north, and at the end turn right onto Heperi St, then left onto Huiawa St.  Follow this onto William St and then right onto Rutherford Drive.  Continue along Rutherford Drive then Paetawa Rd to the intersection of Peka Peka Rd which is the turning point.  Return back down Paetawa Rd, Rutherford Drive, William St and onto Hueawa St.  At the end of Huiawa St turn lefet onto Rauparaha St, then onto Te Moana Rd and finally left onto Park Avenue and back to the Start/Finish. 

This completes one circuit of 25km.  The finishing point for all section is in Park Ave.  


All riders need to take care around the finishing zone.  Finishing riders must keep left and out of the way of continuing riders - allowing them to pass safely.


The mountain bike course stays close to the race headquarters.  It traverses a course predominantly in Waikanae Park with a couple of excursions onto Park Ave and Ngarara Road.


The inaugural Tour of Waikanae Mtb Event is 3 hours of non-stop mountain biking action. Whether riding in a team or solo, the aim is to see how many laps you or your team can complete within the 3 hour time period. Teams can decide how many laps each rider will do and in what order. From open park grounds to rolling single tracks, the circuit has been designed to cater to all abilities
